Jaguars Lose DaVon Hamilton and Eric Murray for the Rest of the Season

Liam Coen confirmed season-ending injuries for the two defensive starters after Sunday’s win over Indianapolis. Jacksonville plays at Baltimore on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost nose tackle DaVon Hamilton and safety Eric Murray for the rest of the 2026 season, head coach Liam Coen confirmed Monday.

Hamilton suffered a quadriceps injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s 42–7 win over Indianapolis. Murray injured his elbow on the opening kickoff, according to the Jaguars’ official report.

“Disappointing, for sure, for both of those guys,” Coen said. Both players were starters and veteran leaders on Jacksonville’s defense.

Coen said the defensive tackle work would be shared rather than assigned to one replacement. “It’s going to be by committee,” he said. Jacksonville also signed veteran defensive tackle Austin Johnson to its practice squad Monday.

The Jaguars must adjust during a short preparation week. Jacksonville, 5–2 after beating the Colts, visits the 4–4 Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, November 5.

The club’s first injury report of the week listed Hamilton and Murray as not participating. Monday’s designations were estimates because Jacksonville held a walkthrough rather than a full practice.
