Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power Share Bermuda Championship Lead at 16 Under
Smotherman and Power lead by two strokes after three rounds at Port Royal.
Austin Smotherman and Seamus Power shared the Butterfield Bermuda Championship lead at 16 under par after Saturday’s third round at Port Royal Golf Course, taking a two-shot advantage into Sunday.
Smotherman shot a 5-under 66 in windy conditions, making an eagle and five birdies against two bogeys, Bermuda Broadcasting reported. Power, the 2022 champion, shot 67 with five birdies and one bogey.
Taylor Moore, Ben Silverman and Corey Conners were tied for third at 14 under. Another five players stood at 13 under: Tom Hoge, Chris Kirk, Chan Kim, Danny Walker and Chandler Blanchet.
Smotherman won his first PGA Tour title at the Bank of Utah Championship earlier this month. Power, who won in Bermuda in 2022, is No. 103 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings and is trying to finish inside the top 100 to retain full status for next year, The Associated Press reported.
Both players completed 54 holes in 197 strokes. More wind was forecast for Sunday, adding another difficult day after Saturday’s scoring conditions.
