Indiana Beats Michigan 13-6 in Overtime Behind Josh Hoover’s Winning Run
Josh Hoover scored the only touchdown in the overtime win.

No. 6 Indiana beat Michigan 13-6 in overtime Saturday in Ann Arbor, with Josh Hoover’s 4-yard touchdown run producing the game’s only touchdown. The Hoosiers improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Big Ten, while Michigan fell to 4-3 and 1-3.
Hoover opened the extra period with a 21-yard completion to tight end Brock Schott before scoring on the next play, according to Inside the Hall. Michigan’s answering drive ended with an incomplete fourth-down pass. Indiana had led 6-0 at halftime.
The Wolverines had tied it 6-6 on Trey Butkowski’s field goal as regulation expired. Their defense kept Indiana to 212 total yards and 81 passing yards, but Michigan generated only six points from four red-zone trips, the school’s official report said.
True freshman Tommy Carr completed 20 of 32 passes for 167 yards in his first Michigan start. The Wolverines next visit Rutgers on October 31. Carr also threw an interception.
