Julian Hall scored in each of his first three appearances for the United States, extending that run with the opening goal against Mexico on October 3. The 18-year-old Red Bull New York forward reached the senior national team after a season that brought an MLS hat trick, an All-Star selection and a new club contract.
U.S. Soccer identified Hall as the third American to score in his first three caps, following Eddie Johnson and Alexander Rae. His contribution to the 3–0 win over Mexico is the newest part of a development record that runs through Red Bull’s academy and second team.
Academy success and early senior minutes
Hall grew up in Manhattan and joined the Red Bull academy at 12. His Under-15 side won the 2023 MLS NEXT Cup, where he scored five goals and received the tournament’s most valuable player award. He also helped the United States win that summer’s Concacaf Under-15 championship.
He made his MLS debut against Chicago on September 30, 2023, at 15 years and 190 days. He was the league’s second-youngest debutant at the time, before Cavan Sullivan’s younger debut the following year.
“My debut was an amazing moment for me and my family and all of the people in my life,” Hall told Sports Illustrated in an October 1 interview, recalling the Chicago appearance.
Hall scored his first MLS goal on June 19, 2024, in a 2–2 draw against Montreal. At 16 years and 87 days, he became Red Bull’s youngest scorer. His development also included 30 appearances and 11 goals for the second team in MLS NEXT Pro from 2023 through 2025, according to the club’s later contract announcement.
A breakthrough season and a longer agreement
Hall scored all three Red Bull goals in a 3–2 win over Columbus on May 13, 2026. The club said his hat trick, at 18 years and 50 days, was the youngest in MLS history. His All-Star selection followed during the same season.
On August 27, Red Bull announced a four-year contract through the 2029–30 season under the U22 Initiative. The release listed nine goals and four assists in 18 league appearances. Sports Illustrated supplied a later snapshot on October 1: 10 goals and five assists in 26 appearances.
His international goals against Peru, Chile and Mexico followed those club milestones. The United States is scheduled to complete this window against Canada on October 6.
