Alex McCoy Hits Second Fall League Homer After 19-Homer Season
The Padres outfield prospect added another home run for Peoria after a season split between High-A and Double-A.

Padres outfield prospect Alex McCoy hit his second Arizona Fall League home run for the Peoria Javelinas on Thursday, continuing a season in which he reached Double-A.
Minor League Baseball published the home-run highlight Friday. MLB Pipeline currently lists McCoy as San Diego’s No. 26 prospect.
McCoy, 24, signed with the Padres as an undrafted free agent out of Hofstra in 2024. His 2026 minor league season included 19 home runs and a .278 batting average across High-A Fort Wayne and Double-A San Antonio. He finished with a .355 on-base percentage and .467 slugging percentage.
His development has paired substantial power with a question about how consistently he can make contact. In a September FanGraphs profile, analyst Eric Longenhagen identified his strongest exit-velocity measurements as a strength while highlighting his contact rate as a limitation.
McCoy’s Fall League assignment gives him another stretch of games against prospects from other organizations after his second professional season. The official 30-second highlight shows his latest home run.
