Saquon Barkley injury: Eagles RB expects to play against Bears

Saquon Barkley expects to play against the Chicago Bears on Monday night, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, but the Eagles still have several offensive injuries to resolve.

Barkley was limited in Thursday’s practice after suffering a stinger in Sunday’s win over Tennessee. Philadelphia’s report recorded his participation without confirming his availability for Monday.

DeVonta Smith did not practice because of a hamstring injury, and tight end Dallas Goedert was absent with a knee injury. Running backs Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley also missed the session with abdomen and foot injuries, respectively.

With Bigsby and Shipley also sidelined at practice, Philadelphia is assessing its backfield beyond Barkley as it prepares for September 28. McLane’s report offers encouragement, but Barkley’s expected availability does not establish that he will be cleared for a full workload.
