SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The 49ers do not expect long-term absences for Mike Evans, Trent Williams or Dre Greenlaw after all three were injured in Sunday’s 36–30 win over Arizona, coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday.
Their availability against Denver remains unsettled. Shanahan said the injuries will need to be evaluated and managed through the week, leaving each player with a chance to play without declaring any of them ready for Sunday.
Evans is dealing with a rib injury. Shanahan did not provide a more specific diagnosis during his news conference, but said the issue should not require a lengthy absence. Evans had left the game after appearing to have difficulty breathing.
Williams suffered a neck stinger. The 49ers are aiming for the veteran left tackle to practice Thursday, an encouraging target that still depends on how he responds over the next several days.
Greenlaw sustained a quadriceps contusion. He briefly returned to the game before being taken out again, and the team will manage his workload as it assesses whether he can play against the Broncos.
The outlook is different for Nick Bosa. Shanahan said the defensive end will remain out this week, as will defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. Their absences keep pressure on a defensive front already working through several availability questions.
San Francisco expects to open Mykel Williams’ practice window Wednesday as he continues recovering from a torn ACL. Opening that window allows him to resume practicing; it does not by itself mean he has been activated or will play against Denver.
Rookie defensive end Romello Height is also expected to practice after surgery on his broken hand. The team has a workout scheduled with veteran pass rusher Matt Judon as it continues evaluating options.
The victory over Arizona moved San Francisco to 3–0, but the next week’s preparation will depend heavily on the injury reports. Monday brought a more encouraging outlook for three starters, alongside confirmation that the defense must again prepare without Bosa.
