Kristaps Porzingis remains out indefinitely as the Warriors wait for further information about the health issue that has kept him out of training camp and preseason games. Golden State said he visited its practice facility for meetings with general manager Mike Dunleavy and medical executive Rick Celebrini.

The team said Porzingis would be around his teammates in some capacity and that an update on practice or game availability would follow when appropriate. The Associated Press reported the statement on NBA.com.

Porzingis wrote on social media that he was working with doctors and specialists and felt he was improving. Neither that message nor the team statement established a return date. His presence at the facility should therefore be distinguished from clearance to practice.

The 31-year-old averaged 16.7 points and 5.2 rebounds in 32 games split between Atlanta and Golden State last season. He joined the Warriors at the February trade deadline and agreed to a two-year, $40 million contract in June. The latest update leaves his availability unresolved as Golden State approaches its October 21 opener at the Lakers.
