Italy qualified directly for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship by beating Poland 6–2 in Pescara on October 5. Cher Ndour scored twice as Silvio Baldini’s team finished above Poland on head-to-head results after the sides ended their group campaign level on points.

Luca Koleosho opened the scoring and Ndour headed in the second before halftime. Ndour then scored from about 70 meters after spotting goalkeeper Marcel Łubik off his line, according to the Italian federation’s report.

Luca Lipani made it 4–0. Poland replied through Daniel Mikołajewski, but Seydou Fini immediately restored Italy’s four-goal advantage. A late Polish goal was followed by Luigi Cherubini’s finish to complete the scoring.

The result gives Italy a place in the finals without a playoff. Albania and Serbia host the tournament from June 16 to July 3, 2027, with the group draw scheduled for November 26 in Belgrade.
