The Hartford Wolf Pack have signed goaltender James Reimer to a professional tryout agreement, the American Hockey League announced Thursday.

Reimer joins the New York Rangers’ affiliate after making 14 appearances for Ottawa last season. He went 7–4–2 with a 2.42 goals-against average, an .886 save percentage and one shutout.

The 38-year-old brings 539 games of NHL experience across eight teams. His career record is 232–191–67, with a 2.87 goals-against average, a .909 save percentage and 32 shutouts, according to the AHL.

The arrangement also returns him to a league in which he has made 45 appearances. That total includes one game for Belleville last season, alongside his earlier time with Toronto.

The move comes as the Rangers manage injuries in goal. Igor Shesterkin is out for the season and Joonas Korpisalo is on injured reserve, Sportsnet reported. Dylan Garand and Spencer Martin have been called up.

Hartford’s announcement confirms a tryout at the AHL level. It does not announce an NHL contract for Reimer.
