Dak Prescott expects more blitzes as Cowboys face Packers pressure

The Dallas quarterback expects Jonathan Gannon to test the protection after Tampa Bay exposed problems. Klayton Adams also wants better offensive balance.

“So I’d be naïve to think that he’s not going to. Let’s do it,” Dak Prescott said of the blitzes he expects from Green Bay on Sunday night.

Speaking before Dallas’ trip to Lambeau Field, Prescott acknowledged that the Cowboys had struggled against Tampa Bay’s pressure. The Buccaneers pressured him 13 times in their previous game, according to the Cowboys’ October 15 report.

Packers defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon has faced Prescott before. Gannon’s Arizona defense sacked him five times in a 27-17 victory last season. Green Bay entered this week with a 42.2% pressure rate and a 33.2% blitz rate, the Dallas report said.

Dallas’ offensive preparation also includes a search for steadier production. Offensive coordinator Klayton Adams described a unit still trying to establish its identity and improve its running game in a separate October 15 team report.

“We need to be more balanced,” Adams said.

Prescott identified sustained execution as another priority.

“Consistency, start fast and stay that way,” he said.
