Breece Hall ruled out against Bears as Braelon Allen prepares to lead
Hall’s quadriceps injury will keep him out Sunday, leaving Allen in line for a larger role in a Jets offense also missing Mason Taylor and Dylan Parham.

Breece Hall will miss the Jets’ game at Chicago on Sunday because of a quadriceps injury, coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Friday. The NFL’s injury roundup also lists tight end Mason Taylor and guard Dylan Parham among New York’s players ruled out.
Braelon Allen has taken the majority of the running-back reps in practice, according to the Jets’ report by Jack Bell. Isaiah Davis is another option in the backfield, but the team has not announced a fixed division of carries.
“I’ve always prepared like I’m the lead guy,” Allen told the team website. The third-year back now has a chance to turn that preparation into a larger game-day workload.
A larger assignment for Allen
Allen had 10 carries for 40 yards against Tennessee in Week 1 and 19 carries through the first three games. His rookie season in 2024 included 334 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 92 attempts.
His own injury recovery is part of the context. Allen’s 2025 season ended with an MCL sprain sustained against Miami in Week 4. He spent the offseason rehabilitating before returning to this season’s backfield.
Hall was hurt late in last Sunday’s loss to Detroit. Friday’s ruling settles his availability for Chicago after the initial uncertainty, while Taylor’s thumb injury and Parham’s knee injury create additional absences around whoever carries the ball.
When and where to watch
The Jets visit the Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday, October 4. Kickoff is 1 p.m. Eastern, 11 a.m. Mountain. The Jets’ viewing guide lists FOX as the regional television broadcaster, with Tim Brando and Drew Brees in the booth and Kristina Pink reporting from the sideline. Availability depends on the local FOX market.
