Bachmeier’s two rushing touchdowns give BYU 17–10 win at TCU

Bear Bachmeier ran for two touchdowns as No. 10 BYU defeated TCU 17–10 on Saturday, October 3, at Amon G. Carter Stadium.

Bachmeier’s 21-yard touchdown run with 2:06 remaining gave the Cougars a 17–7 lead. TCU added a 44-yard field goal with 32 seconds left, but BYU finished with the road win.

The teams were tied 7–7 at halftime. Bachmeier opened the scoring on a nine-yard run in the second quarter, and Jaden Craig answered with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Kari Ashley with 27 seconds remaining before the break.

Matthias Dunn’s 49-yard field goal midway through the third quarter put BYU ahead 10–7. That remained the score until Bachmeier’s second touchdown in the final minutes.

Bachmeier gained 66 yards on 15 carries and completed 11 of 24 passes for 62 yards. BYU finished with 216 total yards, including 154 rushing. Craig passed for 187 yards, a touchdown and an interception for TCU, which gained 259 yards. Ashley caught six passes for 108 yards.
