Zheng Qinwen survived another three-set match at the China Open, beating Marie Bouzkova 7–6(3), 4–6, 7–5 on October 5. The two-hour, 54-minute victory put Zheng into Beijing’s last 16 for the first time since 2024.

Zheng took the first set in a tiebreak before the No. 18 seed forced a deciding set. The Chinese wild card then won the third to complete her third consecutive three-set victory of the tournament, the WTA reported.

Her serve produced 11 aces, and she won 46 of 57 points behind her first delivery. Zheng also created 12 break-point opportunities against Bouzkova.

She next faces Alina Charaeva, who advanced by beating Sonay Kartal after earlier eliminating world No. 1 Elena Rybakina. Zheng had won their only previous meeting, a three-set match in Marbella in 2020, when the WTA published its report.
