Natalia Silva won the vacant UFC women’s flyweight championship with a unanimous decision over Wang Cong at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City on October 3.

The judges scored the five-round main event 48–47, 48–47 and 49–46. Silva’s victory improved her UFC record to 9–0 and extended her overall winning streak to 15 fights, according to the promotion’s results and follow-up report.

Silva used her movement and varied striking to establish an early advantage. Wang became more effective as the fight entered its championship rounds and landed her best late exchanges near the end of the fifth, but did not reverse the decision.

The title had been vacant following Valentina Shevchenko’s injury-related departure from the championship, UFC’s follow-up report confirmed. Silva’s win put a new champion at the top of the 125-pound division.

The result closed an event at Delta Center that also included Payton Talbott’s first-round stoppage of Deiveson Figueiredo in the co-main event. UFC had not announced Silva’s first title defense in the reports used for this story.
