“I think his career has been underrated” SHARPE
Shannon Sharpe says Jonathan Taylor deserves more attention alongside Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry.

“I think his career has been underrated. And you get that sometimes when you play in an era where these guys are so versatile now, you got Gibbs, you got Bijan, and CMac, who are so versatile, they can run it they can catch it. They can give you 100 yards receiving and 100 yards rushing in the same game. They have that kind of ability. And Derrick Henry is the quintessential old school power back,” Shannon Sharpe said.
Sharpe was discussing Jonathan Taylor on Nightcap after Indianapolis’s 30–13 win over Washington in London on Sunday, October 4. Taylor carried 20 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
“How impressed are you with JT’s career thus far? I feel like he’s flying under the radar,” Sharpe asked Chad Johnson.
“You never mention his name first, you mention Bijan or you mention Gibbs. And then you go to where, CMac. And then you go to Derrick Henry. So he’s always like the fourth, fifth or sixth running back you mention. He’s just been consistent. And he’s doing this, think about what he was doing, and the quarterback play that he had. That’s what’s impressive.”
Sharpe also pointed to Taylor’s speed.
“But I think his career is underrated. I think he’s a phenomenal back. People don’t realize how fast he is. And he’s got speed to burn. At the running back position. I don’t think people realize how fast he is, Ocho.”
“He can go, boy,” Johnson said.
