Vikings rule out Justin Jefferson for Sunday’s game against Miami
An ankle sprain will keep Jefferson out against the Dolphins. Kevin O’Connell hopes he can return to practice next week.

Justin Jefferson will miss Minnesota’s game against Miami on Sunday after an ankle sprain kept him out of practice all week. The Vikings made the decision in their final injury report Friday.
Kevin O’Connell said Jefferson was improving but had not reached the point where he could play. The coach hopes to have him back at practice next week, according to the Associated Press report carried by MPR News. The club has not set a return date.
Jefferson injured the ankle in the first quarter of Minnesota’s 23-16 win at Tampa Bay last Sunday. He has 13 catches for 179 yards and two touchdowns through three games.
The Vikings also ruled out cornerback Chuck Demmings and punter Brett Thorson. Linebacker Blake Cashman practiced fully Friday and received no game designation.
Minnesota enters 3-0 against a Miami team seeking its first win. Kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium is 4:05 p.m. ET, or 2:05 p.m. in Edmonton, on FOX in the United States.
