JJ Jansen Set to Break NFL Long-Snapper Games Record Against Eagles
A Sunday appearance would move Jansen past Trey Junkin's 281 games.

JJ Jansen is one appearance away from the NFL games-played record for a long snapper. The Carolina Panthers veteran is scheduled to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, with his first snap set to take him past Trey Junkin.
Jansen and Junkin are tied at 281 career appearances, according to the Panthers’ account published Friday. A 282nd game would leave Jansen alone atop that position’s list. The club places both players in a tie for 24th on the overall NFL games-played list entering the weekend.
Jansen already holds Carolina’s franchise record, having passed former kicker John Kasay in 2022. Kasay, who worked with Jansen in Carolina and Junkin in Seattle, told Panthers.com: “He has always tried to refine what he’s doing.”
The Notre Dame product joined Green Bay as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and spent that season on injured reserve. The Packers traded him to Carolina in April 2009. He made the Pro Bowl following the 2013 season.
Carolina’s visit to Lincoln Financial Field is scheduled for 11 a.m. MDT Sunday, October 18. The milestone remains prospective until Jansen appears in the game.
