The Milwaukee Bucks have moved their October 23 home opener against the Chicago Bulls to the afternoon as the Brewers prepare to host World Series Game 1 later that day. The schedule change follows Milwaukee’s first baseball pennant since 1982.

The Bucks said they worked with the NBA to make the adjustment, according to the league’s announcement. Their statement congratulated the Brewers and described the change as recognition of the city’s first World Series appearance in 44 years.

The Brewers secured their place by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers, completing the National League Championship Series with a 6-4 comeback victory Thursday. Their American League opponent is still being decided by Cleveland and Tampa Bay.

The adjustment gives Milwaukee fans a chance to follow both home events without the original evening overlap. The basketball opponent and date remain the same. Anyone attending the Bulls game should check the revised start time on the Bucks’ schedule and their ticket information before travelling to the arena, because the earlier basketball start changes the day’s arrival plans.
