Penn State’s Alex Tatsch reportedly out for the season
Lions247 reports the linebacker will miss the remaining six regular-season games after a practice injury.

Penn State linebacker Alex Tatsch will miss the rest of the 2026 season after an injury in practice last week, Lions247 reported Tuesday. The sophomore’s absence covers the Nittany Lions’ remaining six regular-season games.
Tatsch was initially listed as questionable before Saturday’s game against USC, then ruled out before Penn State’s 31–23 loss. Coach Matt Campbell said Tuesday that the injury occurred in practice and later described the setback as a significant loss on his radio show.
Tatsch appeared in four games this season, recording 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a forced fumble over 81 defensive snaps. He also missed the season opener while recovering from a knee injury suffered during bowl preparation last December.
Penn State used Tony Rojas, Kooper Ebel and Cael Brezina at linebacker against USC. Cam Smith returned to practice Tuesday after missing five games, giving the group a possible reinforcement while Campbell’s staff manages the loss of Tatsch.
