Washington quarterback Demond Williams Jr. was listed as questionable on Tuesday’s Big Ten availability report for Friday’s game at Purdue. Williams suffered a rib injury during Saturday’s 41–24 loss to Iowa.

Sports Illustrated reported that Williams was not expected to play and that Elijah Brown was expected to start. Williams left near the end of the first half against Iowa, ending a run of 21 consecutive starts for the Huskies.

Brown replaced him and completed 28 of 39 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. The Stanford transfer has four previous career starts and would take over for a Washington team that is 3–3 overall and 0–3 in Big Ten play.

Starting linebacker Xe’ree Alexander was ruled out with a high ankle sprain, while Williams was among seven Huskies listed as questionable. Coach Jedd Fisch said Monday that Alexander was expected to miss significant time. The availability designations leave Washington managing several injuries before its trip to West Lafayette.
