Stefanos Tsitsipas came back from a set down to beat Taylor Fritz 3–6, 7–5, 6–3 on Monday and reach the fourth round of the Shanghai Masters.

The Greek will face Daniil Medvedev in the last 16. The victory continued his progress at a tournament where he recorded his 400th tour-level win in the second round.

Fritz won the opening set, but Tsitsipas took the second and built a 5–2 lead in the deciding set. A complicated eighth game briefly delayed the finish.

Balls fell from Fritz’s pocket on consecutive points, prompting discussion and a video review over the timing of the umpire’s let call. Fritz eventually held after saving match points.

Tsitsipas then served out the match, converting his fifth match point, Tennis Now reported. The interruption did not prevent him from completing the comeback.

His win over Fritz follows Saturday’s milestone victory over Luciano Darderi. Medvedev now stands between Tsitsipas and a quarterfinal place.
