Van Bronckhorst explains Feyenoord’s adjustment as Fàbregas accepts defeat
Feyenoord’s manager describes adapting to Como’s shape in a 3–2 Champions League win, while Cesc Fàbregas accepts responsibility for his choices.

“We had to adjust because they had a different setup. We struggled with that, and they took advantage. It improved after that.”
Giovanni van Bronckhorst was explaining Feyenoord’s response to Como’s unfamiliar shape after Wednesday’s 3–2 Champions League win in Rotterdam. His remarks to Ziggo Sport, reported by Voetbal International, are translated from Dutch.
The Feyenoord manager said his side had tried to press throughout. He singled out the combination of Givairo Read, Gjivai Zechiël and Anis Hadj Moussa on the right for making opponents hesitate.
Cesc Fàbregas also examined his decisions after Como’s first European away match.
“I definitely made some wrong choices too,” he told Sky Sport, translated from Italian.
“Overall, I think they were stronger than us and deserved this victory.”
Fàbregas said Como would keep learning to manage three competitions. He described Champions League participation as arriving earlier than the club had expected.
