Tyquan Thornton faces surgery, 12-16 week recovery: report
NFL Network reports a possible late-season or playoff return for the Chiefs receiver after tests on his dislocated left ankle.

Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyquan Thornton is expected to return in 12 to 16 weeks after dislocating his left ankle, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport following extensive tests Monday.
Thornton will have surgery this week. The Chiefs hope he can return late in the regular season or during the playoffs, according to ESPN’s report of Rapoport’s update. The recovery estimate does not guarantee a return this season.
Thornton was injured after a 55-yard catch in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 30-27 win at Las Vegas. He finished with five catches for a career-high 111 yards and two touchdowns.
Kansas City also lost Rashee Rice to a right hamstring injury in the first quarter. The Chiefs are 4-0 and have their bye in Week 5.
