Tobias Harris to miss Spurs preseason with left calf strain
San Antonio will reevaluate Harris after its five-game exhibition schedule. The forward is questionable for the October 20 opener against Oklahoma City.

San Antonio Spurs forward Tobias Harris will miss the preseason with a strained left calf and is questionable for the October 20 regular-season opener against Oklahoma City, team officials said Sunday.
Harris did not take part in San Antonio’s Silver & Black scrimmage. The Associated Press reported that he will be reevaluated after the Spurs’ five-game preseason schedule; ESPN also reported the team’s announcement and the uncertain opener status.
The veteran joined San Antonio on a two-year contract in July after two seasons with the Detroit Pistons. His first opportunity to play for the Spurs now depends on the reevaluation rather than the exhibition schedule.
The opener against the Thunder is a rematch of last season’s Western Conference finals. San Antonio has not announced that Harris will miss the regular-season game.
