RIO DE JANEIRO — Wide receiver Zay Flowers and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike were active for the Baltimore Ravens against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, restoring two significant pieces of the lineup for the teams’ game in Brazil.
Baltimore confirmed their availability before kickoff at Maracanã Stadium. Flowers had missed the previous game with a hamstring injury, while Madubuike’s return ended an absence stretching back to the second week of the 2025 season.
The news was mixed along the offensive line. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley was inactive with a toe injury after missing practice throughout the week. His absence left second-year tackle Carson Vinson in position to make his first NFL start.
Flowers returned to practice on a limited basis during the week. His availability gave Baltimore another established receiving option, although an active designation did not establish what his workload would be or whether he would play his usual number of snaps.
Madubuike’s return followed a much longer rehabilitation. NFL.com reported that he underwent neck surgery in April and passed his physical in July, with the Ravens then building up his participation. He had last played against Cleveland on September 14, 2025.
The defensive tackle had recorded two sacks in the first two games of that season before the neck injury interrupted his career. Across the 2022 through 2024 seasons, he totalled 25 sacks and earned two Pro Bowl selections, production Baltimore had been missing from the interior of its defensive front.
Madubuike reached another stage in his comeback on Wednesday when the Ravens listed him as a full practice participant. Inside linebacker Teddye Buchanan also practised fully as he worked back from the knee injury that ended his rookie season.
Buchanan was active Sunday for his first appearance of 2026, giving Baltimore another option at linebacker. He finished his first NFL season with 93 tackles and earned a place on the Pro Football Writers of America’s all-rookie team.
Stanley’s absence remained the main injury-related loss on Baltimore’s inactive list. The Ravens’ announcement settled the availability questions for the Brazil game; how extensively the returning players would be used remained a matter for the coaching staff.
