Ramos sends Portugal into Nations League quarterfinals
Gonçalo Ramos’ 79th-minute goal completes a 2–1 comeback against Norway and secures Portugal’s place in the last eight.

Gonçalo Ramos scored in the 79th minute as Portugal came from behind to beat Norway 2–1 on October 4 and become the first team to qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals, UEFA confirmed.
Kristoffer Ajer had put Norway ahead with a half-volley. João Cancelo equalized two minutes later, keeping Portugal’s unbeaten start in Group A4 intact before the hosts found a late winner.
João Félix supplied the layoff for Ramos to finish the decisive move. Portugal then had to protect the advantage after Francisco Conceição received a second yellow card in the closing stages.
The result continued Portugal’s winning start to the group and settled its place in the knockout rounds with two league-phase fixtures still to play.
This was a separate fixture from Portugal’s earlier 2–1 victory in Oslo, when Ramos also scored the winner. In the return meeting, his late finish turned a comeback into confirmed qualification.
