Jerry Jones Still Open to Cowboys Trades at 2–4
At 2–4, Dallas’ owner is open to trade help this season and has not ruled out selling.

“I would be active if we could get a chance to help the team this year,” Jerry Jones said Wednesday in New York, according to Reuters’ report from the NFL’s fall meetings.
The Cowboys are 2–4, but Jones still sees a route back through the NFC East. Philadelphia also stood at 2–4 after Week 6. The Giants led the division at 3–2–1, with Washington at 1–4–1. Every team in the division had gone without a win for two consecutive weeks.
“It gives me a lot of promise,” Jones said.
Jones pointed to the potential of Dallas’ personnel and the adjustments available within its schemes. He expressed frustration with the record while maintaining that the team could improve. He did not identify a specific trade target. His stated interest was in a move that could help Dallas this season before the November 10 deadline.
Dallas lost 23–13 at Green Bay on October 18 after falling behind 17–0 at halftime. Dak Prescott threw two interceptions, and the Cowboys managed 48 rushing yards. Green Bay converted nine of its first 10 third downs before halftime.
Dallas has already committed future picks to improving the roster. The Cowboys’ September 30 announcement of the Joey Porter Jr. trade listed a 2027 sixth-round selection and a 2028 second-round selection going to Pittsburgh for the cornerback.
Asked about selling, Jones said: “No, no, I don’t see that. But I don’t rule it out now.” An exceptional offer could change that.
