The Los Angeles Dodgers added left-hander Justin Wrobleski to their National League Championship Series roster on Sunday, October 11, and left infielder Hyeseong Kim off the 26-man group.
Los Angeles will carry 13 pitchers against the Milwaukee Brewers. Wrobleski joins the bullpen after moving into a relief role in September.
The 26-year-old went 12-5 with a 3.66 ERA and a 1.143 WHIP in 28 regular-season appearances, including 22 starts, Reuters reported. He also earned his first All-Star selection.
More innings coverage for a longer series
Manager Dave Roberts wanted additional pitching coverage for the best-of-seven round. Wrobleski can provide a multi-inning option rather than being limited to one short appearance, according to True Blue LA’s roster report.
Kim appeared in one NLDS game. His omission reduces a speed and defensive option on the bench as Los Angeles allocates the extra place to pitching.
Miguel Rojas remains on the roster after dealing with back and hip soreness during the Division Series. The club also retained prospect Josue De Paula as a left-handed bench bat.
MLB.com published the complete roster. The series opens Sunday night at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
