Brewers bring a rested, healthier bullpen into their Dodgers rematch

The Brewers’ four-game division-series win over San Diego gives Milwaukee three days off before another National League Championship Series against the Dodgers.

That recovery time is particularly useful for Aaron Ashby, Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill. They supplied 12⅔ of the Brewers bullpen’s 19 NLDS innings, MLB.com reported. That is approximately two-thirds of the relief workload.

Megill also enters this rematch healthier than he was a year ago, when a late-season forearm strain had interrupted his preparation.

Milwaukee was swept by Los Angeles in the 2025 NLCS after beating the Dodgers in all six regular-season meetings. This year the Brewers went 4–3 against them.

Finishing the NLDS on Wednesday avoided a potential Friday Game 5. Jacob Misiorowski can therefore start Sunday’s opener, with Logan Henderson lined up for Game 2.

Rest improves Milwaukee’s options, but it does not settle the series. The practical benefit is that manager Pat Murphy can enter Game 1 with fewer immediate workload constraints on the relievers he used most against San Diego.
