Oilers acquire Filip Hallander from Penguins in Spencer Stastney trade

Edmonton adds the Swedish forward, while Pittsburgh acquires a defenseman signed through the 2026–27 season.

The Edmonton Oilers acquired forward Filip Hallander from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday in exchange for defenseman Spencer Stastney, both teams announced.

Hallander, 26, had a goal and two assists in two appearances with Pittsburgh this season. He has seven points in 18 career NHL games and 62 points in 107 American Hockey League games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Stastney, also 26, is signed through the 2026–27 season with an average annual contract value of $1.525 million. The Penguins said he recorded two goals and eight assists in 66 games between Edmonton and Nashville last season.
