Keaton Wagler hit the go-ahead jumper in the final 15 seconds as the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Golden State Warriors 104-101 in their preseason opener Sunday at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Golden State had gone ahead 101-100 on Graham Ike’s tip-in. Wagler’s jumper put the Clippers back in front, then Blake Wesley blocked Miles Kelly’s attempt with 3.9 seconds remaining. Cam Christie made two free throws with 2.5 seconds left to finish the scoring.
Wagler, the fifth pick in the 2026 draft, scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter. Rui Hachimura led Los Angeles with 21 points, all before halftime, on 8-of-11 shooting and four 3-pointers. Darius Garland also scored 15.
The Clippers trailed 88-82 with 7:20 remaining before closing the game on a 22-13 run. Charles Bassey led Golden State with 12 points and eight rebounds; Stephen Curry had 10 points in 13 minutes.
The result was an exhibition win in the teams’ first game after training camp in Hawaii. Golden State returns to Chase Center to host the Lakers on Tuesday.
