Hemp scores twice as Manchester City rally past Arsenal 4–2
City recover from two deficits at the Etihad to win their fifth consecutive Women’s Super League match of the season.

Lauren Hemp scored twice as Manchester City came from behind to beat Arsenal 4–2 at the Etihad Stadium on October 4, maintaining a perfect start after five Women’s Super League matches.
Arsenal led twice, but City answered each time before taking control late in the second half. Lisa Baum opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, only for Hemp’s deflected shot to level the match three minutes later.
Alessia Russo put the visitors back in front shortly after the restart. City’s response came from substitute Kerstin Casparij, who scored with her first touch after coming off the bench.
Hemp then finished from close range in the 72nd minute to give City their first lead. Khadija Shaw added the fourth after Aoba Fujino played her through, sending the ball past goalkeeper Anneke Borbe.
Manchester City’s official match coverage confirmed a fifth win from five league games for Andrée Jeglertz’s side. The two second-half replies allowed the defending champions to turn a match they had twice trailed into another three points.
