49ers rule out Bosa and Williams; Evans faces a game-time decision
San Francisco will be without both edge rushers against Denver. Mike Evans remains questionable, with his availability to be decided Sunday.

The 49ers will face Denver without Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams, and Kyle Shanahan said Mike Evans’ status will come down to a game-time decision.
Shanahan ruled out both edge rushers in his Friday press conference. Defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. is also out. Bosa has knee and calf injuries, Williams has a knee injury, and Thompson has an ankle injury, according to 49ers Webzone’s final report.
Evans, who is dealing with a rib injury, is one of four questionable players. Dre Greenlaw, Keion White and Jaden Dugger carry the same designation. Greenlaw and White returned to practice Friday after missing the previous two sessions.
Shanahan said Denver quarterback Bo Nix’s scrambling and designed runs complicate the defensive assignment. San Francisco must prepare for that threat while missing two of its pass rushers.
On offense, Shanahan expects Brandin Cooks to play after two weeks learning the system. Evans’ availability remains unresolved.
The game at Levi’s Stadium begins Sunday, October 4, at 4:25 p.m. ET, or 2:25 p.m. in Edmonton. CBS carries the U.S. broadcast.
