“That was probably the best moment of my life so far. Having my parents here, I mean, I don’t even know what to say,” Cole Knuble said after Philadelphia’s 3–1 win over Buffalo on Wednesday.

The Flyers rookie was answering a question about his postgame broadcast-panel appearance, which featured his parents. He was describing that experience after scoring his first two NHL goals at KeyBank Center.

In his club-released postgame interview, Knuble said he had watched the broadcast for a long time and described joining the panel with his parents as unreal.

Knuble was playing his second NHL game. He opened the scoring in the first period and added Philadelphia’s third goal early in the third, with Oliver Bonk assisting on both.

Asked about that second goal, Knuble said he had initially wanted to send the puck around, then noticed the goalie was off the post. He was trying to put the puck toward the middle.

Knuble also said he felt better as the game progressed and could contribute energy to help the team. He finished with two goals on four shots in 10:24 of ice time.

Comments were checked against the official English captions for the original club-released interview. The question about the broadcast appearance begins at 1:42; Knuble’s quoted answer follows at 1:45.
