Jake Sanderson Returns for Ottawa While Chabot Remains Out
Sanderson is set to face Florida after missing eight games. Chabot is expected to miss one to two weeks with an upper-body injury.

Jake Sanderson is set to return to Ottawa’s lineup against Florida on Wednesday after missing eight games with a lower-body injury. He skated alongside Artem Zub at Wednesday’s morning skate, NHL.com reported.
The return comes while Thomas Chabot is expected to miss one to two weeks with an upper-body injury. Coach Travis Green gave that estimate after Chabot failed to play the third period of Saturday’s loss to Philadelphia.
Sanderson has not played since leaving the October 3 season opener in Toronto. He returned to Ottawa for testing rather than continuing that opening road trip, with no return date announced at the time.
The Senators’ preparation for Wednesday had moved toward a return earlier this week. Sanderson participated in Monday’s practice, and the club’s Tuesday report described the hope that he could face the Panthers.
Wednesday’s update moves him back into the expected lineup while Ottawa continues to cover Chabot’s absence. The game at Canadian Tire Centre is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. MDT.
