Devils Honor Jake Allen With Silver Stick After 500-Game Milestone
New Jersey held the ceremony October 20. Allen’s 500th NHL appearance came October 10 against Vancouver.

The New Jersey Devils honored Jake Allen for reaching 500 NHL games with a silver-stick ceremony Tuesday at Prudential Center. The celebration came ten days after the goaltender actually reached the milestone.
Allen’s 500th appearance was October 10 against Vancouver, a 4–1 Devils victory. Tuesday’s presentation took place before New Jersey faced Colorado, NHL.com reported.
The ceremony included a video message from Allen’s wife, Shannon, and their children. His family joined him on the ice after the tribute.
Captain Nico Hischier and alternate captains Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt presented a fishing rod and an engraved watch. Martin Brodeur delivered a crystal award on behalf of the NHL, before Devils co-owners David and Allison Blitzer presented the silver stick. Allen’s children received miniature sticks.
The Devils’ account of the milestone described the family’s earlier celebration around the October 10 game, including a locker-room surprise. The later ceremony gave the home crowd its formal opportunity to recognize an achievement Allen had already completed.
