Wild place Jared Spurgeon on IR, recall Haight and Lambos
Minnesota adds a forward and a defenseman from Iowa as injuries limit its roster options.

Minnesota placed captain Jared Spurgeon on injured reserve Sunday, October 18, and recalled forward Hunter Haight and defenseman Carson Lambos from AHL Iowa. The Wild announced the moves before their home game against Columbus.
The Hockey News reported that he skated at Saturday’s practice, but coach John Hynes said he would not be available.
Haight, 22, had three goals and two assists in six games for Iowa this season. Lambos, 23, had a goal and an assist in six games. The recalls give Minnesota additional options at forward and on defense after injuries left the club without an extra skater, according to The Hockey News.
Minnesota’s injury list also includes defensemen Brock Faber, with a skull fracture, and Olli Maatta, with an upper-body injury.
Both recalled players have previous NHL experience. Haight recorded one assist in seven games last season, while Lambos made his debut December 18, 2025. Minnesota heads into a five-game road trip after the Columbus game.
