Miguel Rojas Retires After Dodgers’ Season-Ending Loss
The veteran infielder closes a 13-year major-league career and is expected to move into player development with Los Angeles.

Miguel Rojas told his Dodgers teammates he was retiring after Thursday’s season-ending 6-4 loss to Milwaukee. The announcement closed a 13-year major-league career for the 37-year-old infielder, who won two World Series titles during his second stint in Los Angeles.
Manager Dave Roberts gave Rojas the floor after the postgame team meeting, MLB.com reported. Rojas had considered the decision privately for months before telling the room that the final game of the National League Championship Series was also his last as an active player.
Rojas debuted with the Dodgers in 2014, spent the next eight seasons in Miami and returned to Los Angeles in 2023. His later Dodgers years included the game-tying ninth-inning home run in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series against Toronto.
His connection to the organization is expected to continue. MLB.com reported that his contract for 2026 included a transition into player development after retirement, although the exact position remains to be finalized. The Brewers’ sweep therefore ended both Los Angeles’s title defence and Rojas’s playing career.
