“He has power to get in behind. He can drop and help as well,” Unai Emery told TNT Sports about Nicolas Jackson after Aston Villa’s 6–0 Champions League win over Fenerbahçe on Wednesday.

In the BBC’s account of the interview, Emery described how he wants Jackson in the penalty area when Villa attack. Jackson scored twice in the victory, while Emery said his substitutions gave other players minutes and confidence.

Fenerbahçe coach İsmail Kartal disputed whether the score fairly reflected the match but acknowledged his team’s mistakes. “At football’s highest level, you must avoid simple passing errors and turnovers. If you make them, they punish you,” he said, translated from Turkish, in NTV’s postgame report.

Kartal called the result unacceptable and apologized to supporters. Emery praised Villa’s performance while saying there were still areas to improve.
