Thunder rookie Otega Oweh leaves preseason game with leg injury
Oweh needed assistance off the court during overtime against Indiana. An official diagnosis has not been announced.

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Otega Oweh left Tuesday’s preseason game against the Indiana Pacers after injuring his right leg in overtime. The Thunder won 114–112, but Oweh did not return after being helped to the locker room.
The Oklahoman reported that Oweh planted his right foot while defending, attempted to push off and fell to the floor. He grabbed the back of his right ankle and needed assistance as he left the court for evaluation.
An official diagnosis had not been announced in the postgame report. Coach Mark Daigneault described the injury as a difficult moment for Oweh, while teammate Brooks Barnhizer expressed support for the rookie.
Oweh was selected 41st in the 2026 draft and joined Oklahoma City through a draft-night trade with Miami before signing a two-way contract in July. The former Oklahoma and Kentucky guard also suffered a left foot injury in his first Summer League appearance and missed the Thunder’s remaining seven games.
