DJ Moore and Keon Coleman will remain game-time decisions for the Bills’ matchup with the Chargers on Sunday, leaving Buffalo uncertain about two of its receivers after Friday’s final injury report.
Moore, who has a shoulder injury, missed Thursday’s practice before returning for limited work Friday. Coleman missed two sessions with an ankle injury before also practicing on a limited basis. Both received questionable designations for the Week 3 game.
“I’m going to give them all the way through till game time,” Brady said in the team’s injury update. Buffalo has not announced either receiver as available or ruled either out.
Defensive tackle Ed Oliver is also questionable because of a hip injury, although he improved to full participation Friday after being limited Thursday. The designation leaves his game status unresolved despite that increase in practice work.
The Bills ruled out defensive back Jordan Hancock with a hamstring injury and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders with an illness. Hancock’s problem arose during the practice week, while Sanders underwent an appendectomy, according to the team.
Running back Ty Johnson is expected to make his season debut after missing Buffalo’s first two games with a hamstring injury. Brady said Johnson would be ready to play Sunday.
Los Angeles enters the same game with six confirmed absences and uncertainty behind starting quarterback Justin Herbert. Backup Trey Lance was added to Friday’s injury report and listed as questionable, with DJ Uiagalelei available on the practice squad if another quarterback is needed.
The Chargers ruled out guard Kayode Awosika, tight end Charlie Kolar, defensive back Elijah Molden, offensive lineman Trey Pipkins, receiver Brenen Thompson and defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson. Those absences affect both lines as well as the secondary and receiving group.
Rodney Shelley is questionable with a hamstring injury, leaving Los Angeles with another defensive back to assess. Ladd McConkey and Derwin James finished the week without game designations after appearing on the report with rib and finger injuries, respectively.
McConkey practiced fully throughout the week, while left tackle Rashawn Slater finished with two full sessions after being limited Wednesday, according to the Chargers’ reported practice breakdown. Slater also carries no game designation for Sunday’s matchup in Buffalo.
