Why the 2026 WNBA Finals Are on NBC, USA Network and Peacock

NBC carries Games 1 and 4, USA Network carries the others, and Peacock streams the entire U.S. series under the new rights arrangements.

The 2026 WNBA Finals move between NBC and USA Network because the league’s new media agreements divide the championship coverage across those outlets. Peacock is the common U.S. streaming home for every game in this year’s series.

That is why a viewer can watch the opener on NBC, find the next game on USA Network and return to NBC for Game 4. The game-by-game assignments were announced before the series.

Which Outlet Has Each Finals Game?

USA Sports’ October 15 announcement assigns it Games 2–3 and 5–7, with CNBC carrying simulcasts. NBC carries Games 1 and 4.

What Changed in 2026?

The WNBA announced its agreements with Disney, Amazon Prime Video and NBCUniversal in July 2024, with the new term running from 2026 through 2036. Those agreements include a rotation of Finals coverage over the term, rather than reserving every championship series for one outlet.

The announced allocation gives Disney five Finals and Prime Video and NBCUniversal three each across the 11 years. That explains why ESPN can still be a major WNBA partner without carrying this year’s Finals.

In September 2025, the WNBA and Versant announced a separate 11-year USA Network agreement beginning in 2026. It expanded the USA game package and included portions of the playoffs and Finals in selected years. USA Sports’ current release identifies it as a Versant division.

The league’s April 2026 schedule then supplied the practical answer for this season: every Finals game would stream on Peacock, with each also televised on NBC or USA Network. The later Finals announcement identifies which games belong on which channel.

What That Means for Viewers

Check the specific game’s outlet against your television package or Peacock subscription before tipoff.

The distribution above applies to the United States. Canadian rights are a separate arrangement, so the U.S. channel table should not be treated as a Canadian viewing guide.
