Rasmus Dahlin ruled out against Canadiens, will miss third straight game
Buffalo’s captain remains sidelined by an upper-body injury as the Sabres finish their road trip in Montreal on Saturday.

Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin will miss Saturday’s game at Montreal because of an upper-body injury, coach Lindy Ruff said Friday. It will be the defenseman’s third consecutive absence.
Dahlin has remained in Buffalo while the Sabres travel. He left Monday’s 5–3 home win over the Florida Panthers in the second period, and Ruff initially described him as day to day. The coach said Friday that Dahlin is progressing but would not join the team for its road-trip finale.
The 26-year-old has two goals and two assists in six games this season, averaging 23:38 of ice time. He scored in the first period against Florida before leaving the game.
Owen Power has taken on a larger workload during the captain’s absence. He played 28:01 in Thursday’s 5–4 overtime victory at Toronto, where the Sabres erased a two-goal third-period deficit and Power scored the winner.
Saturday completes a three-game trip that began with Tuesday’s shootout loss in Montreal. Buffalo has collected three points from the first two games despite missing Dahlin in both.
The Sabres and Canadiens are scheduled to face off at Bell Centre at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. Buffalo has not announced a return date for Dahlin.
