Kaiden Guhle set for Canadiens season debut against Red Wings
Montreal gets the defenseman back after adductor surgery and plans to dress seven defenders.

Kaiden Guhle is set to make his season debut for the Montreal Canadiens against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday at the Bell Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. Mountain Time.
The defenseman missed training camp after minor offseason surgery to his adductor muscle. Montreal announced the procedure on September 16 with an estimated absence of four to five weeks.
Guhle said at Saturday’s morning skate that his recovery had proceeded without setbacks and that he felt ready to return. He credited the club’s staff with ensuring he was fully prepared before rejoining the lineup.
The Canadiens plan to use 11 forwards and seven defensemen against Detroit, with Florian Xhekaj out of the lineup. Jacob Fowler is scheduled to make his second consecutive start in goal.
Guhle had two goals and nine assists in 39 games last season. His return gives Montreal another available defenseman after the club traded Jayden Struble to Nashville on Friday.
