Blackhawks’ Frank Nazar suspended two games for illegal check to Bo Horvat’s head
Player Safety imposes an unpaid suspension after Thursday’s incident against the Islanders.

Chicago Blackhawks forward Frank Nazar has been suspended for two games without pay for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced Saturday.
The ruling follows Thursday’s game at UBS Arena, which the Islanders won 4–1. Nazar received a match penalty after the hit, and Horvat did not return to the game.
Player Safety’s final ruling lists the incident at 18:25 of the third period. The earlier hearing announcement listed 18:27. Nazar has two goals and one assist through five games this season.
Nazar will forfeit $68,041.14 under the collective bargaining agreement. The money will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund, according to the league’s announcement.
Horvat is available for Saturday’s game against Tampa Bay, NHL.com’s status report said. He practiced on the Islanders’ top line and top power-play unit at the morning skate after scoring twice against Chicago on Thursday.
