Alexander Wennberg Injury: What the Sharks Have Said About His Return
The Sharks’ latest injury update lists Wennberg as week to week with an upper-body injury, without a confirmed return date.

Alexander Wennberg is week to week with an upper-body injury, according to the NHL’s latest Sharks update. No return date was announced.
San Jose is missing a forward who finished third on the team with 55 points last season. The Sharks’ official season review records a career-high 18 goals, an eight-game point streak and several career milestones during his 2025–26 campaign.
Wennberg reached 400 career points on January 7 with an assist and recorded his 300th NHL assist on March 17. His eight-game scoring streak ran from March 26 through April 8 and produced five goals and five assists.
The Sharks extended him for three years and $18 million in January. That contract began this season, retaining an experienced center while San Jose’s younger players develop around him.
Last season’s 55 points were four short of his career best. The team has not provided a specific date for his next appearance, and the week-to-week designation does not settle which game he could return for.
