Seth Jarvis resumes contact practice after shoulder surgery
The Hurricanes forward wore a regular practice jersey Thursday as his recovery progressed, but he remains out for the game against Vancouver.

Seth Jarvis resumed contact practice with the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, wearing a regular jersey at the morning skate for the first time since offseason surgery on his right shoulder.
The 24-year-old forward had a torn labrum and rotator cuff repaired in June. His initial recovery estimate was four to six months, with a return expected between late October and December, NHL.com reported.
“Now it’s just a matter of getting comfortable and making sure it’s ready to go,” Jarvis told NHL.com. Carolina’s own injury report said he worked as an extra Thursday and was not ready to return to games.
Jarvis led the Hurricanes with 32 goals last season and added four goals and seven assists in 19 playoff appearances as Carolina won the Stanley Cup.
Eric Robinson and William Carrier have filled his usual place alongside Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. Aho has seven points through four games, while Svechnikov has four.
The Hurricanes host the Vancouver Canucks at 5 p.m. Mountain Time on Thursday. Jarvis will remain out as he eases back into contact.
