Jo Adell’s three-run triple sparks Guardians in elimination Game 3 against White Sox

Adell drove in Steven Kwan, José Ramírez and Chase DeLauter in the third inning, putting Cleveland ahead 4-1 at Rate Field.

Jo Adell’s bases-clearing triple off Hagen Smith gave the Cleveland Guardians a 4-1 third-inning lead over the Chicago White Sox in Wednesday’s ALDS Game 3 at Rate Field.

Adell hit the triple with two outs and a 1-2 count against the left-hander. Steven Kwan scored from third, José Ramírez from second and Chase DeLauter from first, according to MLB’s official play record.

It was Adell’s second triple of the series. He had driven in a run with a triple during Chicago’s 4-3 Game 2 victory.
