The Utah defenseman had three assists before a clearing attempt struck him in the head. No return timetable was announced.

Utah Mammoth defenseman Mikhail Sergachev left Tuesday’s 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils with an upper-body injury after a clearing attempt struck him in the head.
The team confirmed that Sergachev would not return, according to Daily Faceoff’s report of Utah’s injury announcement. The puck came off teammate MacKenzie Weegar’s stick late in the second period.
Sergachev had three assists before leaving with 29 seconds remaining in the period. Coach Andre Tourigny had no update after the game, NHL.com reported.
Utah improved to 3-1-0, with Nick Schmaltz contributing a goal and two assists and Karel Vejmelka making 30 saves. Sergachev has six points through four games.
The Mammoth visit Boston on Thursday. Sergachev’s availability for that game and a timetable for his return had not been announced.
